Sup Rune For PvE & Minor For PvP?
I was just wondering about the following:
Is it true that Sup Elementalist runes should be used for PvE and Minors for PvP? I'm just wondering as I need to know whether to buy a seperate head piece for when playing PvP and attach a minor rune to it as I only have one head piece at the moment and it has a sup rune on.
Thanks.

always use minor imo, unless you need to hit a breakpoint (15 energy storage with master of magic, etc)

In PvE, it should be whatever you feel most comfortable with. Major is possibly the best option, as it's a compromise between Superior and Minor, though there is nothing to stop you using a Minor rune, if you like the extra health.
Minor runes are more suited to PvP, as the more health you have, the longer you're likely to live.
It's probably also worth noting that +Health is a good counter to health degeneration, from foes such as Mandragor in Eye of the North.

I think this depends entirly on your armor/weapon set to be honest.
I run my ele with Survivor runes to buff up her HP, then use a martial weapon (Spear, +5 energy, Firey (for MoR), +30hp) and either a shield of an offhand with another +30 hp mod. Gives her quite an insane amount of HP allowing her to use a major rune.
And plus 15 rounds everything up to a nice number 100 for Lightning orb ftw

Just take a look at your character and see how much of a benefit you are getting from the additional attribute ranks. If you're just getting a couple of points of damage out of your spells, you're likely better off sticking with minor runes and getting as much health as you can. But if you're getting significant bonuses to energy gained, such as with Mind Blast, Glowing Gaze, and Glowstone, or some critical extra seconds on enchantments, such as Obsidian Flesh or Stoneflesh Aura, then definitely consider taking either a major or a superior.

I always run sup of the element I'm using and minor of e-storage. Compensating for -75 with full survivor insignia and sup vigor. And don't forget kiting is a squishy's best friend!

You could always have a number of headpieces and use your superiors to start with, and if you find yourself taking too much damage or DP'ing out, swap over to your major/minor set.
Personally I rarely run Superior Runes unless I'm doing some trinity method. Minor and Major runes will be good enough for general play but if you must use superiors, take an armor swap incase things go bad.
Also note In pvp you cannot swap armors, meaning you have to make a reasonable choice before a game. For this reason it's advisable to run minors or majors to avoid getting into a position where you do not have enough health left over if you build up DP.

Meh, in PvE, I run my Ele with Superior runes. I rarely die these days so I may as well get a bit of extra damage out of it.

There's no reason not to use superiors in PvE so just take them there. PvP you're probably best with all minors on casters, though. And you can always make a PvP char if you don't want to buy 4 extra headgears specifically for PvP.

I have a Superior Fire and Earth for farming. In PvE its not up to the ele to save the day, so I dont think 75 heath will make a diff. For PvP I use minors on my water and air and a major on my second fire.

Basically, in every situation where it matters at all what you take, more health is better. If you're playing in situations where it doesn't matter and get a hard on for big numbers, take the superior. When it matters, stick to minors or a major if necessary.

For PvE, I'd vote for a Sup since Ele's are not tanks (unless you're using a tanking earth build of course). We're placed in the backlines so we can nuke, not soak damage. The tank/s should be the ones to take it since they have the highest health and armor. And as MBP said, kiting is always good.
In PvP, minor is better for we're usually the first ones to be targeted.

In PvP I run a sup of whatever ele I am using and minor of e storage. But in PVE I run 2 sups. Kinda oldschool but it works just fine for me.

No offense but if your dying a lot while you have 1 Superior Rune on you, are you sure its the rune and not you thats bad at PvE?
What do you tank when your a Ele? do you aggro everything that you see? do you not know how to kite when enemies are coming after you?

You can be playing perfectly fine and still die because you run with <500 health with Rit and Ele bosses capable of dealing that much damage in a single spell, or be torn apart in 4-5 attacks from a warrior boss.
Having the extra bit of health provides some slack room to increase the amount of time your monks have to react if they miss a pre-prot. You can run superiors, but your just sacrificing what little leeway you have just to add on a few extra points of damage.
